Small Modular
Reactors (SMRs)
In early 2024, we announced an agreement with Ontario Power Generation to jointly assess the development and deployment of grid-scale SMRs to provide clean, reliable nuclear energy for Alberta. The 2-year feasibility assessment includes learning interests, priorities and concerns of communities and exploring ownership and operating structures for a potential New online casinosfleet of grid-scale SMRs in Alberta.
Carbon Capture and
Storage (CCS)
CCS is a solution for zero or near-zero emission natural gas-fueled power generation. CCS captures emissions for permanent storage.
Through a $0.8 million grant awarded by the Michigan Public Service Commission, we are conducting a CCS feasibility study at Midland Cogeneration Venture, the largest natural gas-fired combined electrical energy and steam energy generating plant in the U.S.
Hydrogen
Hydrogen can be used as a fuel source to produce reliable, affordable and clean electricity.
As recipients of Ontario Energy’s Hydrogen Innovation Fund, we are exploring hydrogen blending at our Goreway, East Windsor, and York facilities, using various mixes of hydrogen (from 5% to 15%). At our Kingsbridge 1 facility, we are exploring New casino gamesthe economic and technical feasibility of creating green hydrogen from wind and storing it underground in depleted gas reservoirs.
Solar Grazing
At our Strathmore Solar facility, we’re excited to host sheep and pigs from Whispering Cedars Ranch to graze – helping us to sustainably manage the land on site to reduce fire hazards and help keep the facility well-maintained. This mutually beneficial opportunity maximizes the utility of the solar site by offering local farmers additional land for their animals to graze, grow and thrive.
